North America is primarily populated right now by immigrants and their descendants – indigenous peoples are lower than 10% of the population. The United States and Canada particularly are nations of immigrants, with waves of people from everywhere in the world shifting there over the previous couple of centuries. As such, they’re the most multicultural locations on the planet, significantly in larger cities like New York and Toronto. Although the Central American and the Caribbean regions are technically a half of the North American continent, they are commonly listed separately from their bigger neighbours to the north and hence the distinctive region names for each cultural and geographical causes. North America is certainly one of two continents of the Americas, named after the Italian explorer Amerigo Vespucci, with a surface space of 24,221,490km² . It’s in the northern hemisphere, between the Pacific Ocean and the Atlantic Ocean and to the north of South America.
