Some will immediately point out that Vallejo's work, much like Frank Frazetta's, is sexually raw and provocative. It's hard to deny this, but its even harder to deny Vallejo's mastery of the human form. A mastery which is best displayed when the straight lines, curves, and nuances of the human body are freely presented. So a warning: artistic nudity to follow.
We've chosen to highlight Vallejo this week because of his how deeply informed his work is by mythology and fantasy. He's an incredible painter and you deserve the opportunity to appreciate his work.
